A Package!

Everyone,

We know our UPS guy and our mailman by name. We love our UPS guy who brings Soot treats, chats every time he drops off a package, and waves at us through the neighborhood if I happen to be walking around with the kids. (Yes, I actually do this sometimes.) Anyway, I give him water or Gatorade on those really hot days, and cookies, etc when I have them. He's just a great guy.

Our mailman, well, he hates our dog and is not terribly nice. Maybe it's just me. He does bring me fun things like this:
What is it you say? Well, remember the pay it forward contest that I won? It came! And I got some really good things thanks to Courtney over at A is for Beautiful. She sent some really fun things! A calender, some magazines with yummy recipes, some note cards and stickers (Butterfly's comment "Can I share your C's?") and some fruit snacks and trail mix. Yum!
And the trail mix and the dinner list are my favorite things! The trail mix has some kind of big chocolate ball with caramel on the inside and it is so good! Yum!

I am also looking forward to looking through the magazines and getting some new recipes. Because frankly, I'm getting a little tired of what we're eating all the time. She also sent a desert cook book and I am so thrilled to be able to eat these things again. I think I will let Butterfly pick one and make it with her during the winter. She will love it!

So what does this mean to you guys as readers? My own pay it forward contest is on! You have until Saturday, July 26th to leave me a comment here and I will randomly pick a winner and send you your own package. Then, when you get my random gifts, you have to have your own contest and pass along the love. Hence the pay it forward concept. So comment away! And if you're looking for something to comment about, tell me your favorite ice cream. (This is what Courtney had us comment on too!)

Safire

PS- Afraid you won't win? Never fear! I won 2 of these contests and when I get the second package, I will have another contest! So be on the look out!

  3. Favorite ice cream gotta be one scoop Baskin Robbins Peanut butter n chocolate second scoop pistachio almond. Now the peanut butter n chocolate is not named correctly because it is a fudgy chocolate ice cream with thick swirls of creamy peanut butter in it. I think it should be chocolate with peanut butter ice cream. Yes I have spent way too much time thinking about this ice cream. When I was pregnant with Elder Big Man I was 10 days over (every day a living @$#%) and the Dr had said he would induce me on Monday. But at my Friday Dr's appointment he checked and said no can do the baby is too high and free floating. I was so upset. I drove straight to B&R. I asked for Peanut Butter and Chocolate Ice Cream. The 16 yr old boy said we are out. I burst into hysterical sobs and left the store without any ice cream. My husband at the time went the next day and bought an entire flat or cut of the ice cream and what happened, I went into labor and he ate the ENTIRE thing while I was in the hospital for just 24 hours! The pistachio obsession is another novel I will save it for another contest :)

  4. How FUN! I love getting packages! It's even more fun when you don't know what is going to be inside. You got some great stuff and what a FUN idea!
As far as ice cream....hmm. Anything from BREWSTERS! I used to look forward to peppermint ice cream every winter, but that's not necessarily my favorite.

  5. This sounds like so much fun!

Ok...favorite ice cream. I actually have you and Juice to thank for it, since it was a new creation Zuke made for me when we used the Cold Stone gift card you sent us for our wedding. It is chocolate ice cream, with marshmallows (lots!) and white chocolate chips. That, my friend, is pure heaven!

  7. How fun for you! I love getting mail also. Let's see... my favorite ice cream depends on my mood. I like mint chocolate, cookie dough, or cookies and cream when I'm sad/tired/lonely- any kind of down mood. When I'm just wanting a nice treat for no reason I love the fruity flavors.

  12. I have two favorites (and have been indulging myself WAY too much with the heat lately - he he). One if from a local ice cream shop here in town and it's called "grasshopper". It's mint ice cream with chunks of oreo cookie. It's SO good. I can't find it anywhere else - mint chip just isn't the same. And I crave it in the winter when it's closed down!

Also, my grocery store has a flavor called "Death By Chocolate" that's a dark chocolate with hunks of chocolate in it along with chocolate covered almond bits. It's truly amazing and I can get it all year round, which makes it even better. :-)

  24. I do not eat much ice cream, as I am lactose intollerant. However I am big on sorbet.

My favorite of all time is from a little cafe at the Wynn in Vegas. I ate there sorbet everynight I was there last time. Sugar free Pineapple that melted in your mouth and was soooooooo good.

My favorite grocery store find is Dryers Beryy Rainbow.

    What a fun contest!
