Bad Thursday

Everyone,

What a crazy day this has been. It's very late so I will be brief.

We went to the dentist this morning. Since both the boys are still sick and Flower didn't need to come along, Juice and I took Butterfly by ourselves. I think she was in heaven having both of her parents to herself for awhile. Even if that time was at the dentist. She did great. They painted fluoride on her teeth that had to be left on for 4-6 hours. She wasn't supposed to eat anything crunchy, sticky, sweet, or hot. Huh. What does that leave? Cold macaroni for lunch and a cold cheese sandwich for dinner. I have two cavities that I'll have filled next week. Lucky me. Our dentist was very nice and made room for me to get them done while Flower is still with us. She is so good.

I had planned on taking Flower out tonight without the kids so she could have a little bit of a break. Kind of a thank you night for all the hard work she's done. And she has worked hard! I don't know what I'm going to do without her in about 10 days. Sad.

Anyway, we decided that we would go downtown and see Night at the Museum in the Smithsonian. Sounds like fun right? Well we were late. Then we didn't get to the museum before it closed. So the movie was no go. And we rode the train all the way down there and back basically for nothing. We thought we'd go see another movie but nothing good was playing early enough. Everything was starting after 11pm. Too late for us!

So we decided to go get ice cream instead. That was good. Then we went home. I took the babysitter home and now I'm waiting for the dog to eat her dinner. It's almost midnight. I'm feeling kind of bad that the evening didn't work out how I planned.

Teeth Pictures

Everyone,

We went to the dentist today. We always take over their office when we go because I schedule everyone at the same time. Our dentist is about 35 minutes away so why go down there more than we have to? This office has seen us since before Butterfly was born.

And today, they actually got x-rays of her teeth! She did so great and listened to what the dentist said. She opened her mouth at the right times, let them pick at her teeth, clean, x-ray, fluoridate, and rinse. Amazing. She was so pleased at how well she did too. She got to pick out a toy from the treasure box and a new pink princess toothbrush. She loves the dentist.

The boys were a big hit too. I got the easy job this time around. Juice went first and the boys were content and quiet in their strollers. I read all 3 of them books for about 20 minutes, and then went to get my teeth cleaned. Butterfly wanted me around for her teeth cleaning so I got to stay in the back with her and talk to her about the pink toothpaste she was using and watch the monkey brushing his teeth video.

By the time we were done, Juice had both boys on his lap. No small feat with the cast. As I walked around the corner, both boys tuned their big eyes onto me and both said, "Mamamamama!" It was very cute. I felt very loved. They were not happy with getting back in the stroller or into the car but they slept on the way home and had a nice LONG nap this afternoon.

Butterfly napped this afternoon too. So did I. I was so tired. And cold. I ended up curled in my bed with the heating pad on my feet to warm me up. Pirate started to cry about 20 minutes into my nap so I took him back to bed with me and we snuggled as best we could.

The cast...ugh, I hate it. It's heavy. It's awkward. It's starting to smell. And it's only been 5 days! I can only imagine what it's going to smell like in a month. We did decorate it and I took a few pictures. Sadly, the battery is dead in my camera so I'll have to wait till it charges to show off our art work.

Ahhh...help!

Everyone,

That is a sigh of relief in the title, not a scream for help. We have help again! My wonderful cousin is here for about 2 and a half weeks. She is 15 and so fun and cute! We're going to call her Bee on here. Anyway, it's been so nice to have another set of hands, although Pirate screams bloody murder whenever she picks him up. I think it's a combination of a few things with him. (I'll get into it later.) And Professor is happy as long as he's full and someone is holding him.

Today we went to a park with my mom's group. One of our members had moved away and was here visiting and settling on her house. So we went to the park to visit with them and let the kids play. Butterfly was so cute. At one point all the girls were in the train, she found me, got a huge smile on her face and said, "Mommy I'm playing with all my friends!" She was so happy. It was so cute. I like that friends are starting to be a big part of her life.

Wednesday night I was able to go out with the ladies in my church and have a nice dinner and some kid free swimming and conversation. It was great. Just what I needed. Although I did worry about leaving Juice with all three kids. He did fine and there was no one crying when I walked in the door. Little did I know that Professor was breathing in between screams when I came in. Still, he was easily calmed and I was happy to be home.

On Thursday, we had a dentist appointment in the morning. It was fun to show off the boys to our dentist. She is very nice. I got x-rays, the first time in about 18 months. And I have a cavity. Yay. It seems like every time I go to see her I am either pregnant or I have a cavity.

From the dentist, I had to rush off to the airport to pick up Bee since her flight was about half an hour early. Apparently they had a good tailwind. Juice had another bout of 3 kids and no mommy. I walked right up to her at the baggage claim and we walked right back out to the car. We hit a little bit of traffic on the way home but nothing the HOV lane couldn't fix.

By the time I got home, Pirate had had enough! Where was his mommy! He spent most of that night plastered to my side wanting to nurse. Poor kid. And Professor was grumpier than normal. Butterfly took right to Bee after a moment of shyness. She keeps saying that Bee and Flower are her best friends.

Oh, I hear someone waking up so I have to go. Pictures soon! And the other contest!

Hello Insomnia

Everyone,

Sooo...close to midnight here. My family is all sleeping away peacefully. Including Soot who I can hear is snoring in her crate in the next room. And why, why does sleep have to be so elusive to me?! When I was pregnant with Butterfly, I could sleep at the drop of a hat. And I did. I slept so much and so often I wondered what I would do when she was born. But she slept a lot too, and those newborn days of hers are hazy and pajama ridden.

There are lots of pajamas in this pregnancy too, but probably because I remember them more. I'm awake a lot more. And I never seem to be able to sleep at night. During the day, no problem! Butterfly and I took a 4 hour nap today. This could be encouraging the insomnia at night.

We all had a very early day today. We had dentist appointments starting at 8am. Butterfly typically doesn't get up until about 9am these days, and I sleep as long as she does. But today, I was up at 6am so I could get ready before facing "the beast" as we call it. She is NOT a happy camper when she gets up. Okay, she's not a happy camper for me. She loves Daddy. Anyway, back to teeth. We all had a nice cleaning and no cavities. Yay!

I have been tagged for 2 different memes. I'll do one tonight since the other needs me to take pictures and my internet is out on the computer my camera is hooked to. So, meme #1, from jw4mkc.

My 6 things...again. (I'm pretty sure I've already done this so I'm going to do a pregnancy version.)

1- I drool. A lot. It wakes me up at night with how much I drool. Juice will not let me sleep on his pillow anymore and I had to give my word of honor that I wouldn't sleep there when he wasn't around to police me. Turns out, this is a normal thing of pregnancy because of all the heartburn.
2- My belly button is so close to poking out. It never did this with Butterfly's pregnancy because I have a crag of a belly button. But this time around, I can see my innie becoming an outie and it's strange. (Also strange, the stupid skin tag I have in the middle of my belly button. I want it removed it bugs me so much!)
3- I have been denied chocolate and now that is all I want to eat. I went to the store the other day and they had all their valentines stuff out and I was sad I couldn't eat anything. Even the smell was driving me crazy.
4- With Butterfly's pregnancy I had food aversion like you would not believe. Now, I have food cravings. I eat so much cereal and string cheese these days. I also like fresh food, no leftovers please!
5- I take 5 pills every day. 3 prenatal vitamins (that's the dosage on the bottle...it's supposed to be conveinant to take at meal times but I never rememeber), one heartburn supresor so I might actually be able to lay down to sleep, and a Flintstone chewable. Man those things taste so good. They are my reward for actually remember to take all my pills every day and probably the only reason I do.
6- I forget. I forget things like words of things (cabanet, mail being my favorite), I forget people's birthdays. I forget to pay bills or I forget that I have already paid a bill and pay it twice. I never forget to eat, though. Or anything important with Butterfly. But everything else, so sorry if I've forgotten.

There you go. I was resting my arm on my belly thinking of something to write and I got a definite hand or foot swipe, along with a very hard push against my arm. It was slowly lifting my arm in the air and then suddenly went away when I felt the other baby move. It's fun to be pregnant with twins. :)

Boots

Everyone,

Yesterday evening, Butterfly and I were dancing to a CD my good friend Julia and I had made in college. It is a compilation of a bunch of really up beat country songs. See, Julia and I were avid country dancers at college. We would go faithfully every Wednesday night. And sometimes even Friday nights at the local club (only sometimes, Friday nights were my study nights). We never did dance much that year with partners. We lived to line dance! And we knew them all! We were almost always front row center and people would get behind us to watch the steps. The Boot Scoot 'n Boogie, the Watermelon Crawl, Cotton Eyed Joe. Ahh...I love those songs.

Sadly, I have forgotten most of the steps. Juice really isn't into line dancing and Julia lives 3000 miles away. But last night I turned up the volume and boogied with Butterfly. She had the best time. We jumped, we twirled, we shook, we hopped. She would point frantically at the cd player when a song was winding down and nod her head up and down. You want more music? Okay! Here we go!

There is a song on the CD called Whose Bed have your Boots been under. We weren't dancing at the time (I was getting ready to go to Mutual) and she disappeared. I finished putting on my makeup, and she arrived with her boots! My daughter is a genius and holy cow she understands things! Here she is trying to give me the boots.

In other news, we all went to the dentist this morning. No cavities all around. Butterfly was so interested in what they were doing that they are going to start cleaning her teeth in 6 months. Our appointment is on her birthday. Will she really be 2 in 6 months?!
