Pretend It's A Seed, Okay

Everyone,

Big changes come in little steps. But sometimes they come in big leaps. Take the earthquake in Chile recently. My Dad was there a week before the huge one hit. He experienced a small pre-tremor that shook the walls but didn't do much else. Life went on as they knew it (and he tasted some awesome looking chili sauce.) But a week later, another earthquake hit that rocked the world. Literally. The country was devastated, but the world changed on it's axis. Our days are just that much shorter now. It's amazing what can happen under stress.

I think people can do amazing things under stress as well. It may start off with some small things, like that pre-tremor that my Dad experienced. It may explode in unexpected ways. It may rock our world and the way we think. Take Rebecca from Seed. She had something she wanted to do. Her desire to "detoxify" her life started off with some small pre-tremors. They inched her towards her own personal earthquake that changed her whole life. She and her husband now own their own line of natural health products.

For me, I feel like I've been having my own set of pre-tremors for my life to change. I may not start my own company, but I will be expanding my blog and therefore my writing. I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up and took several classes to that effect. I've been paid to write a few times in my life, but they've always been short gigs. My blog has been a long term gig (going on 6 years now!) and it's time for it to have it's own earthquake and rock my world.

So everyone hold on, brace yourselves, and get ready for some shaking!

  1. What a great analogy! I didn't realize your dad had been in Chile so recently! That's the kind of thing that makes you stop and say a little prayer of thanks.
