Getting Ready

Everyone,

Tomorrow we are having friends over for Juice's big 3-0 birthday. One nice thing about having people over is that we actually clean the house. Shocker, I know. I have been pretty good about doing my daily chore list, but sometimes the house needs a good scrub down.

This is one of those times.

So, today this is what I have done:

Cleaned up all the random loose papers that seem to accumulate in my house, specifically on my table.

Put away the last of the Christmas decorations. Yes, I'm a little ashamed to admit I still had Christmas stuff up. I can hear my Mom saying, "Oh, Safire!" and my Nana too...in the exact same tone of voice. BUT, in my defense, Butterfly loves those horses and wanted to see them pretty much once a day. So Juice finally boxed them up for me tonight and Butterfly will probably not notice that they aren't there.

Scrubbed the kitchen floor on my hands and knees. Seriously, there was no avoiding this one. 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 adults really do a number on that floor and it was gross. The bubbles of the cleaner were almost black by the time I was done. Now, it is shiny and the boys can eat off of it tomorrow morning.

Laundry. Yay! Never ending laundry.

Grocery shopping. Gotta have diet root beer for Lavender!

Now, I'm exhausted and ready for my bed. Another day of cleaning tomorrow!

  1. I know exactly what you mean. My house never looks as good as it does when we have planned guests.

I actually love cleaning the kitchen floor on hands and knees because otherwise I know I'm just really mopping the dog hair from one side of the kitchen to the other and it feels pointless! :) Sounds like a productive day...go you!
